Fold

EffectsfoldLight CPU

Foldover distortion driven by a fold increment. Increment CV.

What it does

Digital foldover distortion.

Wraps daisysp::Fold (LGPL). The fold Increment is audio-rate so the port can be modulated.

Parameters

  • Increment

    increment
    Default 1Range 0 … 100

How aggressively the waveform is folded back on itself. At 0 the signal passes through; small values add a few extra harmonics much like a wavefolder; and as it climbs the folding becomes so dense that the original waveform is barely recognisable, which is where the harsh digital character of this tile lives. The range runs to 100, so most of the useful musical territory is in the bottom of the travel. Per-sample, so it can be swept. Follow with a DC Block if the output drifts off centre.

A Csound-style foldover distortion — a harsher, more digital sibling of the Wavefolder. Larger Increment = more aggressive folding. Per-sample, so the port can be swept. Follow with DC Block if needed.
